album cover

So i finally settled on this font, as it was bold and I think it will be inexpensive to keep copying on to merchandise.
I liked this font, but thought that the writing was too thin and not bold enough to stand out from the other albums on the shelf.

This style of writing looked to complicated, for fans to copy and to expensive to keep on putting on merchandise.

I didn't like this writing as it looked to simple and i didn't think that it would stand out like it should.

I tried this picture but didn't like it as it made the writing look squashed and the band look tight and squished.

the inspiration for the album cover is Paramore, because I thought it would give a rock edge to my album. The name of the album sticks in my head as it is repeated over and over again. Which is why I repeated the album name on my album cover.

I made this cover like this because i wanted to have different aspect of members of the band shown and draw people in, i also wanted the track list to stick out, so put it on to a blue back ground and in white writing. I think this will catch my target market's eye, because it's simple but still attracting. However this still looks very busy and I don't think the back of the album needs so many pictures as the main focal point should be the songs. Not the artists.

This is the CD that will go into the Album, this was my idea apart from the blurb bit at the bottom which is hardly readable. (I copied that form the Jonas Brothers CD) but changed the numbers. I like the way that the O of the word Echo is the whole in the CD.

This is my album cover, I got the inspiration for the band name and picture lay out, from The Jonas Brothers album 'Lines, Vines and Trying Times' and the inspiration for the album title lay out from Paramore's album 'Riot!'.

I think this album will stand out of the shelf at a music store, because 'THE ECHO'S' (it is in the 'Impact' font), stands out and is eye catching because it is bold, and a bright colour on a dark background. The album name 'DIGNIFIED' is in font 14 and is in 'Chiller' giving a rocky edge to the band, it also makes the audience pic up the album to read what the title is, because they don't know where to look, and the font maybe to small. The picture is also central which draws the audience in because the band members are good looking and the audience will aspire to be like them and have their own faces on an album cover, the closeness of the members also shows their sisterly bonds. However I think the background looks a bit like wall paper and I also don't think that it is eye catching enough.

So I have changed the CD and my final product appears later on in the blog.
